In this fast-paced society multi-tasking is often a way of life. Most people do it regularly and wear it like
a badge of honor as if it were something to be proud of. Of course, there are some jobs and some times
in life that multi-tasking is required, I won’t be talking about these. I’ll be discussing all the times we
multi-task when it’s not necessary.
The problem with multi-tasking is that we’re dividing up our attention. We only have a certain amount
of attention to use at one time. If we’re doing four things at once, we can only give 25% of our attention
to each thing. It’s impossible to do a job as effectively with 25% of your attention as you can with 100%
of your attention. You will simply perform bett...
We are responsible for our own lives. Therefore, it is our responsibility to be disciplined enough to live in
a functional, well-balanced way, no one else’s. I certainly lived my share of dysfunctional years so when I
shifted at age 35, I needed to learn an entire new way of interacting with the world around me.
Since I had never lived in a functional manner before, I wasn’t quite sure what it looked like or how to
do it. I began to develop my own idea of what a healthy, balanced life looked like. After working my first
year, I was notified that I hadn’t taken any vacation time. I was shocked, this had never happened to me
before, in the past I was always needing more time off. Although receiving a check for a...
Children are wonderful examples of many spiritual things because they haven’t been conditioned by
society to forget them all yet. Children have no concept of time; they live perpetually in the moment.
This in itself is a major enhancement to life. Of course we need the concept of time as we get older to
manage our responsibilities and life in a linear existence, the problem is we get addicted to it. We base
everything on time, we’re constantly trapped in the past or obsessing about the future. A child is living
in the moment, filled with joy, excitement and enthusiasm!
When they are playing, they are completely in bliss with what they’re experiencing at that time. They’re
not worried about when they should sto...
We’ve all had the experiences of feeling jealousy and envy in one form or another. May it be in a
relationship, with a friend, family member or a stranger – it’s a common energy that people experience.
Left unattended this energy can be extremely detrimental and even become dangerous.
Jealousy is based in insecurity in oneself. Of course a common jealousy is in romantic relationships with
fear of the person cheating on us. This could be caused by a painful past experience or simply by fear of
a possible experience. Either way, it needs to be dealt with from within. Understanding your worth and
developing trust in yourself is the foundation. First you need to believe you’re worthy of love and that
love comes fr...
It’s been said that all of human kind’s problems derive from one thing: separation from Source. It’s also
been said famously by Blaise Pascal: “All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly
in a room alone.” If we are disconnected from who we are, what we are, our reason for being here as
well as our Source of love, peace, fulfillment and joy…no wonder we can’t sit quietly in a room alone.
Stillness is where we can connect to our Source but when we’re disconnected, it’s also where the pain of
that disconnection bubbles up and is felt.
I remember my first solo plane flight after I woke up. I brought many things with me to distract myself
and pass the time but didn’t use any of t...
So let’s chat about teenagers for a bit. This age is historically difficult and now that we’re in the middle
of a spiritual shift, the difficulty has taken on a specific look.
Kids in general are coming into this world much more spiritually open, more sensitive, they have a
wonderful awareness and a caring for the world as a whole. Much of their spirituality is so innate within
them, they are unaware of it. It’s like asking a fish about the water it’s swimming in or the amazing
capabilities of it’s gills. It doesn’t know about them, it’s simply the way things are.
Some important aspects of this are manifesting and the knowingness that all is well and they are safe.
From a spiritual perspective, kids know these...
